Arjun’s debut marred by Sanju?

Cruel, Cruel Summer may very well be the track that is playing through debutant Arjun Kapoor’s mind. About to be launched in Ishaqzaade opposite Parineeti Chopra, it was thought that the project would give Arjun the dream reception every actor longs for at the box office. But there may be a spanner in the works in the form of Sanjay Dutt.
Sanju baba’s Department, helmed by Ram Gopal Varma, is being slotted for the same release date as Ishaqzaade. “Sanjay is riding a wave of popularity as of now, after the success of Agneepath. So interest in Department is quite high,” points out a veteran trade analyst. So why not move the Ishaqzaade release to a later date? “Because the production behemoth backing Ishaqzaade never backs down from their release dates,” our analyst says.
Considering that Amitabh Bachchan is also a part of Department, is this going to be a very one-sided battle?
