Arjun’s film won’t hurt Pakistani fans
With Bhaag Milkha Bhaag being denied a box office release in Pakistan on the grounds that it depicts the country in bad light, the makers of the to-be-released D-Day are taking care to ensure that their film won’t meet the same fate. They’ve asserted that though the film is largely set in Pakistan (the scenes have in fact been shot here) the plot is about India’s most wanted terrorist being brought back here.
The film’s team denied that the film will take a jingoistic route in the name of patriotism. We hear that Arjun Rampal too wanted to be fully convinced about his role as a RAW agent. “The film is about fighting terrorism but doesn’t qualify as Pakistan bashing. If that was the case, I wouldn’t have done the film. I believe jingoism in cinema is passé,” says Arjun. “I have a lot of Pakistani fans and I wouldn’t do anything to cause hurt.”
