Arjun’s making the right friends

Arjun Kapoor may be new to the world of acting but he is certainly not alien to ways of the industry that largely thrives on being at the right place at the right time. The young chap is also getting to know a thing or two about friendships in Bollywood.

Only last month, there was a strong buzz of his budding friendship with Anushka Sharma. Talks about his closeness with Malaika Arora Khan haven’t entirely faded either. But Arjun seems to be on the fast track as far as expanding his friend base is concerned. We now hear that there are some strong rumours about him bonding with Priyanka Chopra these days. If industry sources are to be believed, these two are the new best friends in town. It also helps that they are co-stars now, with PC signing on the dotted line for her first Yash Raj Films production, Gundey, that stars Arjun in the lead. “Arjun has always liked Priyanka as an actor and he is looking forward to working with her in the film,” says our source. Priyanka, who has always been good friends with her co-stars, is fond of Arjun too.
There is no denying the fact that after a successful debut in Ishaqzaade, being associated with big names such as Anushka and PC, has kept him in the news. His top banner film adds the cherry on the cake. Speaking of his budding friendship with PC, a source close to Arjun says, “He isn’t the ‘in-your-face’ kind of guy. Arjun has an inherent charm. He is a good friend of Arpita and Salman Khan and PC is friends with both of them; that’s how they met through common friends.”
Well, all one can say that junior Kapoor knows how to be at the right place at the right time.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
