Asin’s got some guests from home
If you thought Asin was South India’s biggest export to Bollywood, wait till you see the upcoming releases.
In the films coming up this year, as many as half a dozen South Indian heroines will make their Bollywood debut.
And it’s not like these girls are there for mere eye candy. Most of the roles are author-backed ones, from what we hear. “Illeana D’Cruz has a key role in Barfi alongside Ranbir and Priyanka, while Tapsee Pannu reprises Deepti Naval’s role in the Chashme Baddoor remake. Then you have Nidhi Subbaiah who already has two films: Ajab Gazabb Love and Oh! My God. “The North-South divide has gone for good,” says Vashu Bhagnani, producer of Ajab Gazabb Love. “A good actress is what you need and I know Nidhi will deliver.”
