Bajirao Singham to roar once again
Rohit Shetty is the man who introduced Bollywood to the franchisee system of making films, spawning an entire series of his hit Golmaal films, making his cool millions in the process. So after his Singham last year touched the `100 crore mark, it was only a matter of time before he spawned a sequel. And a sequel is what he is currently spawning, and early indications are that Ajay Devgn will be retained.
“Though it is still early to make declarations, there are strong indications that it will be so. And Ajay would be an obvious choice for the remake since he took the subject to an altogether different level in the first half,” says a source. The Tamil version is expected to arrive by the end of the year, and the Hindi version will go on floors then.
“Even the issue of who will finance the film needs to be considered. Reliance had backed the first part, but some issues had cropped up between them and Rohit. It would be a challenge to have Rohit, Ajay and Reliance on board again,” says a trade veteran.
