Recent reports claimed that Shah Rukh Khan wanted to exclusively promote his film Chennai Express at the Kolkata stadium where the IPL opening ceremony is being held — to the detriment of Akshay Kumar’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2, with which it shares an Id release date. SRK, who is also a team owner in the IPL, denied the allegation.

Now, the OUATIM2 team has neatly circumvented this by reserving a special box at the stadium. “The OUATIM2 team has a special box, and all the actors from the film, including Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan will be present. It’s sure to create a buzz,” said one source.
We hear that producer Ekta Kapoor was miffed when the OUATIM2 team was denied the opportunity to publicise their film during the opening ceremony. “Ekta was adamant about starting the promotions at the IPL,” our source added. And what Ekta wants, she gets.
