Bebo won’t star in KJo’s next film

Not too long ago, Karan Johar had declared Kareena Kapoor his production house’s numero uno actress. Well, we wonder if Karan is thinking of changing that particular status quo.
Now, everyone knows that childhood friends KJo and Ekta Kapoor are collaborating on a hush-hush project. The only details we had are that KJo wanted very much for Kareena to star opposite Emraan Hashmi in the film. Bebo too had agreed to be a part of the project. The industry was quite excited about seeing this rather unusual pairing on screen, with two stars who just can’t seem to do any wrong as far as the box office is concerned.
But the latest buzz around B’town is that Bebo has now opted out of the film. The actress’ aides ascribed her bowing out to date issues, pointing out that apart from her impending nuptials to beau Saif Ali Khan, Bebo also has to prepare for her Sanjay Leela Bhansali film which co-stars Ranveer Singh.
But here’s the “unofficial” version of the story: Apparently, Bebo decided not to do the film as she wasn’t too convinced of the story. “Kareena and Karan go a long way back and it wasn’t easy to turn down her friend. But she realised that she simply didn’t believe in the script, so the professional thing to do was distance herself from it. She knew the film would be made on a grand scale, but decided to wait for a true magnum opus from Karan that she could feature in,” a little birdie told us. “Their friendship will not be affected just because Bebo can’t accommodate this project.”
With Kareena now out, KJo and Ekta are looking or a replacement. We’re guessing Priyanka Chopra isn’t an option hmm, Karan?

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
