‘Behenji’ Amrita lands Bhatt role

While spending most of her screen time in Aisha clad in salwar kameezes, little did newcomer Amrita Puri know that her role would be noticed and appreciated by the Bhatts. The Bhatts, known for their bold films, with roles that emphasise sex and skin show, will feature Amrita in their next, Blood Money. The actress, though, is wary about the possible adult content.
“She was actually quite surprised, as she didn’t see herself fitting in with a Bhatt film. She wondered how they saw her as someone who could play a bold role. She was in two minds, but ultimately did give the auditions,” her friend says.
“Frankly, I never had the Bhatts in mind; I had a perception of them offering films like Jism, Murder or Raaz. Thankfully, Blood Money isn’t remotely close to that genre. What I am getting is a performance-oriented role where skin show isn’t on the agenda. I am content with what I have done. I play a girl next door, but thankfully she is not a behenji either.”
