Being bossed by baby sister
Sonam returned to Scotland last week to resume shooting for Mausam with Shahid Kapoor. But that has not deterred her from talking non-stop about her next venture Aisha, which is also her younger sister Rhea Kapoor’s productional debut. According to Sonam, “When a sister is the producer, it’s a big loss for an actor.”
Explaining herself she adds, “I used to get the worst treatment on the sets. I was made to work even harder since it was a home production. And all this while I was so used to being pampered on the sets during the shooting of Saawariya, Delhi-6 and I Hate Luv Storys. But this time I had to make adjustments all the time because my sister kept reminding me that it was our film. I was the first to arrive and last to leave the sets and I even stayed in the worst room.” But Sonam seems to have taken it all in good humour. “I usually boss her in the house as I am the eldest but on sets she made sure that she was the boss,” she chuckles.
And now the actress is more than pleased with the end product. “All said and done, she has done a very good job. I am proud of her. She has worked really hard and since it is her first film, she deserves all the credit,” she says. Sonam goes on to add that she feels very confident about Aisha. “It’s a fun film and we are all mostly new and young. And we also happened to be an all-women crew, and ensured a power packed performance from everyone,” she concludes.
