A better experience for Emraan
Emraan Hashmi’s stock has been rising for a while now, and it looks set to rise some more. Now that it’s almost certain that he will be a part of Karan Johar’s next venture to be directed by Rensil D’Silva, he’d be seen opposite Kareena Kapoor in it. Considering he has usually worked opposite newcomers like Esha Gupta or Jacqueline Fernandes, it should be a promising change here.
“Right from Mallika Sherawat in Murder to Esha Gupta in Jannat 2, he has always had newcomers work opposite him. In fact, his most experienced co-star has been Vidya Balan in The Dirty Picture, and even that wasn’t a very conventional pairing,” says an industry source.
On his part though, Emraan chooses to play it down. “Casting of the female lead is done by the producers and directors as per what they feel is appropriate. I have never sat down and told them who I wish to work with,” he says. “And in any case, all the girls who have worked with me have contributed something wonderful, and I’m sure that will continue in the future as well.”
