Bhansali has no issues with Karan
A lot has been said about Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his ruffled equation with Karan Johar. In fact, it was reported that the filmmaker even stayed away from the poster launch of his sister Bela Sehgal’s film Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, because he didn’t want to be anywhere near KJo.
The rift was supposedly due to SLB dropping Kareena Kapoor from his upcoming film Ram Leela, which had upset Karan a lot. Now when Karan designed a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai like poster for Sehgal’s Shirin Farhad… it was given that KJo would also unveil the poster, hence SLB chose to stay away from the event.
However, Bhansali has an entirely different story to tell. Rubbishing all rumours of a rift between him and KJo, SLB says that he was in Ahmedabad to check locations for Ram Leela. “Everyone including Bela and her team knew that I wouldn’t be available for the launch. Shrin Farhad… is her film and I didn’t want to stop the progress of the film because of my unavailability,” says Bhansali.
The filmmaker adds that he was amused to read the stories that were floating around. “I think the story was in bad taste. Putting two and two together is unethical,” says a visibly upset Bhansali.
Probably, this is one of those rare cases where there was smoke without any fire.
