Bips’ Race 2 role no mystery, but a cameo

With only Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor from the original Race team continuing into the much-awaited sequel, the industry was thrown into a tizzy when director duo Abbas-Mustan announced that Bipasha Basu would also be a part of the film. With John Abraham already being roped in for the second installation of the thriller franchise (along with Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel), the rumour mills were working overtime, speculating how much screen time Bips would get, whether she’d be sharing any with former beau John.
But Bips herself has stepped in to halt the rumours, stating that her role in Race 2 is only a cameo. “I basically have a guest appearance in Race 2. Abbas-Mustan launched me a decade ago in Ajnabee and I am doing the film just for them,” says Bips, who has previously worked with the filmmakers in Race, Players and (the now shelved) Mr Fraud. “They just wanted me to come in for a few days of shooting.”
