Bips won’t use her connections

This has been a milestone year of sorts for Bipasha Basu. The Bong beauty is marking the 14th year since she moved to Mumbai, and Bips is proud of the fact that she’s made it so far on her own. This, despite the fact that she has several high profile industry friends who would no doubt come to her aid if she only asked.
Karan Johar who is a good friend of Bips’ former beau John Abraham, is also close to the actress, though she has never exploited the connection.
“I don’t have to work with Karan to be friends with him,” Bips says. “Karan is a good friend. We can talk for hours, but we don’t discuss work when we meet.” Bips adds that she’s certain Karan will approach her when he has a good role to offer. But in the meantime, she’s more than happy with what she has in her kitty — and her life — as of now. “I’m a very optimistic person,” Bips says. “I’ve not harmed anyone, so I’m sure nothing bad will happen to me. In my toughest phase my friends have always been there for me. Their presence makes me happy.”
