The Boyz are stunned
The Desi Boyz team is not happy with the Censor Board. After spending months, marketing the film as a family entertainer, the film has been passed with an ‘A’ certificate, leaving the makers highly miffed with the “unfair” decision. Apparently, the board felt that the theme of male-escorts didn’t quite fit the bill of family entertainment.
A source says, “Akshay and John were completely convinced that despite the risqué theme of the film, it would not border on eroticism. And director Rohit Dhawan stayed true to his word throughout the making.” In such a controversial scenario, drawing comparisons come naturally.
A senior crew member, hinting at Rockstar, says, “I don’t wish to point fingers but recently a superstar’s objectionable gesture in the film was deemed fit for an ‘U’ certificate and our film doesn’t even get a ‘U/A’. The decision is bizarre to say the least.” He further adds, “It’s natural for films such as Murder 2, or Delhi Belly to be tagged as ‘adults only’, but when the same happens to a light-hearted family entertainer, it raises questions about the thought process of the censors.
Well, now that the buck has been passed over to the audience, let’s hear it from them.
