Burghley House now in Mumbai
No expense was spared for the making of Housefull 2, as Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan got themselves the most exotic locations. So what if some of these locations had to be recreated in a different city altogether.
Apparently, some parts of the film were to be shot at London’s iconic Burghley House. And since it didn’t make sense for the entire cast and crew to be flown to London for just these scenes, they decided to construct a replica of Burghley House, right within Mumbai’s Filmistan Studios.
“The two Sajids wanted to recreate the sets with specific detailing of its structure and colours. No cost was spared, as the climax of the film and a song were to be shot here,” says the film’s spokesperson, adding that all the detailing sent the cost spiralling to a whopping `5 crore.
Director Sajid Khan confirmed the news, adding, “The set is so unbelievably real that sometimes, I feel I’m inside the castle. Another reason why we put up a set here was because there are certain action scenes and pyrotechnics which are forbidden in the real castle, as it’s a heritage monument.”
