Cancer-free Lisa finds writing ‘therapeutic’

Lisa Ray, former model and actress, has shown remarkable strength in the way she battled multiple myeloma, a rare type of cancer. Last year, with the aid of stem cell transplant treatment, Lisa was fully cured.
While it would be understandable if she had chosen to shy away from describing her painful struggle, Lisa radiantly gleams, “I actually feel greatly relieved in sharing intimate details of my treatment. I still have those scars and I wear them proudly.”
In fact, the Canada based actress intends to pen her struggles in form of a book. She reveals, “I am going back to Canada soon. I’ll take some time off and work on the book. It’s time for me to step back, keep healing and put more time into my friends and my personal life.”
Ask her why she chose writing as the medium of expression and she elaborates, “I have always loved writing. It’s the way I express myself best. Writing is my way of understanding. It is therapeutic.”
