A change of luck for Sonam
After the box office debacles that were Saawariya and Delhi-6, Sonam Kapoor is now looking forward to a change of fortunes in 2010. And with four extremely promising films on the floor, Sonam’s fortunes do seem to be looking up.
The actress has already finished shooting for Punit Malhotra’s I Hate Love Stories with Imran Khan, while filming for her home production Aisha, starring Abhay Deol, is still continuing. Next up for Sonam is Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut Mausam, with Shahid Kapoor. She will shoot simultaneously for Anees Bazmee’s Thank You opposite Akshay Kumar.
Surprisingly, none of her forthcoming films will see the actress do a repeat act with any one of her leading men.
Director Anees is all praise for Sonam. “She is vibrant, natural and very attractive,” he says, adding, “When I cast her, I did not think about whether she could have carried off comedy well. I cast her because she fit the script. I am sure she will be able to carry off comedy just as well as her father did. She’s a talented girl.”
We hope Sonam’s listening to this little vote of confidence.
