Comfy in her skin

Chitrangada Singh may not be a mainstream sensation yet, but she surely knows her worth. Grapevine says that recently she declined a whopping multi-crore-endorsement deal for a fairness product, because she doesn’t “believe in it”.
While most feel it would have made good business sense to grab the plum deal, Chitrangada clearly disagrees. “I turned it down because I am happy the way I am. I am dusky and truly Indian, and I’m happy to stay that way. Endorsing such products means sending out the wrong message to a colour-obsessed nation. I don’t regret losing out on the money. Why should we be made to apologise for our skin colour?” says a strong-willed Chitrangada, who is taking baby steps towards commercial cinema in her upcoming releases Desi Boyz and I, Me Aur Main.
