Compare me not, says Duggu
Hrithik Roshan may have stepped into Amitabh Bachchan’s shoes as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the remake of Agneepath, but he says the actual test is still waiting — the Big B’s reaction. At the film’s promo launch, Hrithik admitted that comparisons would be inevitable. “I know people will do that (draw comparisons), but it’s unfair,” the hunky actor said. “Comparing me to a legend like him (the Big B) is like comparing a son to his father.”
One thing that may work in Hrithik’s favour is the sheer hype that has already surrounded the film. With as much attention focused on Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra’s characters in the film — not to mention limelight stealer Katrina Kaif as Chikni Chameli — the burden of carrying the film forward will not rest on Hrithik’s (manly) shoulders alone.
In the meantime, Hrithik is also gearing up for his other big-ticket film in 2012: Krissh 2. While Hrithik and Priyanka will both be busy promoting Agneepath, the actor says this will not affect work on his home production. “Hopefully by then we should be done with the first schedule of Krissh 2. And if required, we’ll shoot the parts with Vivek (Oberoi) and Kangna (Ranaut),” a source connected to the film said.
With Hrithik’s health being a subject of much discussion right now, here’s hoping the star doesn’t feel the burden of working on two such big budget films...
