‘Crazy’ delays in this shoot
Of late, the Joker shoot seems to have turned into a madhouse. We mean that literally. Apparently, a sequence of the film requires to be shot in a mental asylum-like setting and the makers of Joker have been at their wit’s end as to whether they should film in an actual facility or reconstruct the same on sets. The chaos has been further compounded by the unfortunate fact that the film’s art director Samir Chanda, passed away last week.
“Samir had been of huge help to Joker’s makers as he always had some practical solutions to offer,” says a source from the unit. “Earlier, when Shirish needed to shoot a sequence in a forest, Samir had recreated an entire forest on the sets.”
Shirish and Samir were supposed to do a recce at a facility in Pune and see if it was ideal for their purpose, but everything has been put on hold. “What is adding to the team’s anxiety is that Akshay Kumar’s dates are at a premium. So no further delay can be brooked in the Joker schedule,” our source revealed.
