Deepika’s item number to face competition

One has heard stories of one actor taking on his counterpart from some other film. However, seldom does one see the same happening within the same film. And least of all, between the lead actor and an actress who has been roped in to perform a special number in the film. But that’s exactly what’s happening on the sets of the Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Dum Maaro Dum.
It seems that the makers wanted the actor to step up and perform his own jig to give Deepika Padukone’s scintillating item number some competition. Pronto an SOS was sent to composer Pritam and a song was designed that suited Abhishek’s personality and style of singing.
“Yes, it is a special song penned by Jaideep Sahni that takes a dig on ministers and cops. It’s titled Thayn Thayn with a funky groove to it and Abhishek has cracked it. I was amazed that he could catch the nuances of the song so well.”
Now it remains to be seen how a podgy Abhishek steals the show from the lissome Deepika, if at all.
