Deepika in Race 2?

Some movies take forever to take off simply because they are unable to finalise their cast. The remake to The Italian Job had a lot of iffy moments before a lead heroine was signed on. Now, the sequel to Race, which is very much in the offing, seems to be facing a similar problem. While the male leads comprising Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna will be retained, the producers have yet to zero in on the female cast. The latest buzz has it that Deepika Padukone has replaced Priyanka Chopra in the film.
Our source said, “Priyanka Chopra was the original choice for the sequel to Race. But it is Deepika who is playing the lead in the film now.”
Apparently, Priyanka could not squeeze out dates for the film. A source close to the Tauranis maintained, “Yes, Priyanka was to do the film, but things did not fall into place. The Tauranis have roped in Deepika as they feel that she is more apt for the role,” said our source.
