Department has H’wood influences?

Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film Department, which star Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Rana Dagubatti in principal roles is believed to have influences from two Hollywood films.
A member of the crew said, “The film is in the genre of an all-male dramatic thriller and stays in a zone similar to L.A. Confidential starring Danny Devito and Russel Crowe.” The film has also explored the politics within the police department, just like in Street Kings, where Keanu Reaves challenged the entire police system, the source added.
However, Ramu denied any such influences. “Department has nothing to do with any of the films that you mention. In fact, I haven’t even seen Street Kings,” he said.
