Dhamaal at SRK and Aamir’s expense
Call it a friendly prank, an innocent jibe or plain humour, but Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan are certainly finding themselves at the wrong side of things. “The makers of Double Dhamaal, in an attempt to double the humour quotient of the first in the series, have incorporated scenes in the film where Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Javed Jafferey and Ashish Chowdhry are mimicking some of the leading actors of Bollywood like Shahrukh and Aamir,” informs an insider.
While Ritesh Deshmukh goes on to ape Aamir Khan, it is Javed Jafferey who does his own take on Shah Rukh Khan.
The promo shows Ritesh doing a funny take on Aamir with references to Dhobi Ghat as well as Peepli [Live]. Arshad goes khamosh (in the inimitable Shatrughan style) while the best is reserved for Javed Jaffrey who is reprimanded for a nasal tone when he tries to imitate Shah Rukh.
“All of this is in plain humour,” defends Riteish when asked if the team had gone a little too far. “Nobody minds if it is done with the right intent. Also, everyone is aware of what our team has done in Double Dhamaal as we are not hiding anything. It’s our tribute to them,” he adds.
