Divya’s filmi ventures
Divya Dutta is on a roll. The actress has eight releases this year and has signed five more films. Incidentally, all the eight releases will see her in diverse roles. In Haat — The Weekly Bazaar, Divya portrays the role of a Rajasthani woman who has to pay a huge price for challenging the villagers from her community and leaving her husband. The film is being directed by Seema Kapoor. Then there’s Sushen Bhatnagar’s Monica, based on the true case of Shivangi Bhatnagar. Next up for Divya are Subhash Ghai’s Chaloo Movie and a children’s film with Amol Gupte. Also on the anvil is Sudhir Mishra’s as yet untitled venture.
Divya is fresh off Jennifer Lynch’s Hisss, in which she was paired opposite Irrfan Khan. A second Hollywood film Heart Land is being wrapped up, after which Divya tackles her third overseas project with Amelia Jackson Gray and Reg Grant.
Divya says that Heart Land is a different genre from her other Hollywood films. While Hisss is a thriller-drama, Heart Land is a romantic comedy and her third project is a drama.
Confirming the news, Divya said, “I am bound by a contract and cannot reveal any details until it’s official. I will soon be getting an agent too.”
