Don’t call me an item girl: Sona

For an A-list actress in B’town today, having a chartbusting item number is often the crown jewel in her diadem. And so it is that you’ll find a Katrina Kaif or Kareena Kapoor reveling in dancing to a raunchy beat.

But not Sonakshi Sinha, no. Our Sona has expressed her disdain for the “item number” tag in no uncertain terms.
Despite shaking a leg with Prabhu Deva in an item song in Oh My God, the actress insists that people shouldn’t label her an “item girl”. “I think it’s a term that is being used very loosely. Go Govinda was a one-off song that I did purely because of my equation with Prabhu sir and Akshay Kumar. I wish people wouldn’t call it an item number,” the Dabangg lass says.
Well, what should we call your “one-off” number then Sona? Any suggestions?
