Prateik Babbar may be a newcomer to the industry, but he is learning the tricks of the trade — including how to ensure maximum publicity for his projects. A case in point is how he has cashed in on Friendship Day to create a buzz around My Friend Pinto, which marks his first solo lead role.

“Prateik flew down from Delhi — where he was promoting Aarakshan — to Mumbai, and planned a surprise bash for his friends,” says a source. But is this just a promotional move?
“So what if his party on Friendship Day coincides with the theme of his film My Friend Pinto?” a friend says. “He hasn’t had time to catch up with the gang, and this is a great way.”
