Duggu won’t go SRK’s way
Hrithik Roshan’s superhero film Krrish 3 is being touted as one of the biggest releases this year. However, the superstar won’t go the Shah Rukh Khan way to promote his film. Two years ago, SRK had begun the promotions of his own superhero venture Ra.One two to three months in advance.
He had begun to unveil certain portions of the film in order to give the audience an idea of what his magnum opus was all about. The strategy however did not prove successful for SRK and the film opened to mixed reactions. Maybe that’s why the makers of Krrish 3 want to opt for the conventional method to promote their film. Another film on a similar scale is Dhoom 3, which is also following the slow and steady route.
“Neither Rakesh Roshan nor Aditya Chopra has any plans of showcasing portions of their films. Krrish 3 arrives during Diwali and Dhoom 3 is scheduled for a Christmas release. There is no hurry. Viewers have a long wait before even a single frame from either movie is revealed,” says a source.
While Rakesh Roshan has spoken very little about the film, Yash Raj Films have maintained a complete silence so far. To be fair to the two films, what they have been successful in doing is to create an air of secrecy and intrigue around them — something that Ra.One didn’t, albeit intentionally, back then.
