Ek Tha Kabir: Khan might work with Ekta

Nobody really expected Kabir Khan to pull off the kind of casting coup he eventually managed for Ek Tha Tiger. But in roping in Salman Khan for a Yash Raj film and then convincing Katrina Kaif to act opposite her former paramour, he certainly did show what he’s capable of. But now that the filming of Ek Tha Tiger is moving along smoothly and the makers planning a year-end release for their film, Kabir is making his own plans as well, plans that involve him moving out of YRF.

Having made Kabul Express, New York and Ek Tha Tiger, Kabir will complete his contract with YRF and complete it very successfully. “His journey and growth with YRF have been things that he’s very proud of,” says sources close to the director.
Probably also the reason why he’s now looking at venturing out of YRF and looking to work with their rivals now. Kabir was recently spotted at the Balaji office for an “official meeting” with Ekta. “He’d come there to meet Ekta,” disclose sources in the production house. Kabir’s association with Ekta will be worth a dekko. The duo has been synonymous with hard-hitting and “realistic” cinema. “Nothing has been decided as yet. He was here a while ago and discussed a few concepts. A formal announcement will be made as and when something works out,” says our source.
