Ekta convinces Akki to shift release dates
Akshay Kumar is not just an actor, he is also a producer and a businessman. Small wonder then, that when it comes to releasing his films, he is taking every precaution to ensure that they have the maximum effect.
Word is that after the somewhat middling success of Special 26, Ekta wants to resurrect Akki’s commercial status. Ekta has accordingly asked him to postpone the release of his film Boss and instead, let their film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2 release first.
“After the debacle of Khiladi 786 and lukewarm response to Special 26, it’s important to get Akshay’s slightly shaky box office status back on track. And Ekta is aware and confident about the mega business that her film will garner. She has managed to convince Akshay to postpone Boss and work on the release of OUATIM 2,” says a source from the production house.
Apparently, even Akshay is convinced that it’s a viable option to postpone Boss. Another reason is that Ekta wanted to avoid the back-to-back release of her two gangster films: OUATIM 2 and Shootout At Wadala, releasing in such a short span of time.
