Ekta did not approach Vidya

Ekta Kapoor, who gave Vidya Balan’s career a huge boost with The Dirty Picture, has denied having approached the latter for Ek Thi Daayan. Reacting to the rumours, Ekta says, “Neither Vidya nor Priyanka Chopra was approached for ETD. The cast of the film is exactly what we had in mind right from the start.

” She also clarifies that her relations with Vidya and PC are cordial. “They are good actors and have proved it time and again. I would definitely want to work with them in the future.”
We quiz Ekta about Vishal Bharadwaj’s idea of casting her in ETD. “That was funny,” she giggles. “Vishal wanted me to play one of the characters in the film. But I got cold feet and declined.” Ekta goes on to add that acting has never interested her and that she enjoys her role as a filmmaker.
