Ekta pays tribute again

Ekta Kapoor has decided to pay tribute to Silk Smitha by releasing Dirty Picture on December 2, which happens to be the South siren’s birthday. Intrigued by Silk Smitha’s struggle and growth in the Southern film industry, Dirty Picture is Ekta’s attempt to recreate her journey to stardom. “Like all my other films, this one too is special,” says the producer.

However, the idea to release the film on the seductress’ birthday was Tusshar Kapoor’s brainwave. “I suggested that we release the film on that day because it will help us create a connection with her. Silk Smitha has a huge fan following in the South and the idea was to capitalise on that,” says Tusshar, who is optimistic about his new avatar in the film, backed by his sister’s marketing strategy.
“Ekta knows the pulse of the audience. In the past too her success formula has paid off,” assure her associates. Let’s see if the formula strikes gold yet again.
