Emi-Abhay rivalry not just a rumour

Abhay Deol may have claimed — and vociferously so — that the rivalry between him and Shanghai co-star Emraan Hashmi was all a figment of someone’s overheated imagination, but new developments make us believe otherwise. With Emraan’s song sequence in Shanghai finding favour with fans, it seems Abhi is feeling a little left out. So much so that he has abstained from making an appearance at Shanghai’s Iifa premiere in Singapore.
Abhay has previously had a rather successful project with Dibakar in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. So the industry expected a cracker-jacker of a film in Shanghai. Unfortunately, talk of an alleged rivalry between Emraan and Abhay has dampened the positive buzz.
With Abhay not attending the premiere, industry watchers are claiming that this is indeed a sign that things were not as hunky dory as the Shanghai team was making them out to be. “But Abhay is also busy shooting for Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh. That could also be the reason (for his not attending the premiere),” say sources in the Shanghai team.
