Emraan likes his screen space

You might think that having received plenty of accolades for his role in The Dirty Picture, Emraan Hashmi would be a happy man. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. It seems in the journey from small budget wonders to bigger productions, he’s lost the space to be expansive on film. “I’m used to having free ground in my films. In The Dirty Picture, I had to share it with other actors,” Emraan admits.
Emraan says he wants to ensure that he has a well sketched out character in each of his films: I admit that the script is the real hero of the film, but I think I have proved my worth. Now I feel I should be as important as the script of the film.” So is the reference here to The Dirty Picture, where Emraan’s co-star Vidya stole the show? Emraan isn’t telling, but we’ll be sure to draw our own conclusions.
In the meantime, take heart Emraan, there are always the Jannat and Murder franchises to showcase your histrionics.
