In B’town, rivalries often run deep and become the stuff of lore. But this one had a happy ending. Katrina Kaif and Malaika Arora Khan were put in an uncomfortable situation of late, with their performances in Sheila Ki Jawani and Munni Badnaam Hui respectively, being pitted as the ultimate item numbers ever. The ladies themselves got

caught up in trying to outdo each other — a situation compounded by the fact that they had close family ties.
“Things reached a peak when Malaika conveniently forgot to invite Katrina to the special family screening of Dabangg,” says a source close to the Khan family. “Salman’s sister Alvira and Malaika were even overheard having a heated discussion when they realised the oversight, as no matter what Salman’s current relationship status with Katrina was, she has always been a part of their family’s events.”
But Katrina chose to bury the hatchet, when she invited Malaika personally to a special screening of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The Khan family obliged Katrina by showing up in full attendance. “It was awkward when Malaika and Katrina met,” says our source. “But they soon got over that.”
