Erotica no more: Emraan

When the Bhatts announced the sequel of Jism, Emraan Hashmi was one of the first names they considered to step into the franchise. However, the leading man of the original, John Abraham, was ultimately approached, leaving many industry watchers to wonder whether Emraan was miffed about being left out.
But it now turns out that Emraan himself wasn’t too keen on taking up Jism 2. The reason: He felt he was associated with one erotic-thriller franchise too many (think Murder, Raaz and Jannat). “Whether John appears in Jism 2 or not still remains to be seen, but Emraan is certainly not doing it,” a source close to Emraan revealed. “After all, how many erotic franchises do you expect him to do year after year? He is anyway a default lead for Murder and if he had done Jism 2 as well, it would have been too much of an overlap. Emraan doesn’t want to get into a zone where he ends up repeating himself.”
