Full steam ahead for Salman’s Kick
The year is drawing to a close, yet there is still no clarity about which film Salman Khan will be starting work on next. After working with Arbaaz on Dabangg 2, it is chhote bhai Sohail’s turn next, with Sallu dropping hints that he wants to take up his project, Radhey. Sher Khan, on the other hand, has been put on hold. However, among all these film commitments that Sallu is trying to juggle, the only one that actually has all the groundwork in place is Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick.
“Salman is keeping a close tab on the progress of the writing for Kick. Sajid — who is directing the film — is apparently modelling it along the lines of the Dhoom franchise. An extensive amount of work has been done on the pre-production,” a source in the know shared.
For starters, writer Chetan Bhagat is tightening up the screenplay so that the Hindi version is even more appealing than the Telugu original. Needless to say, Sallu ensures he stays updated. With four back-to-back 100-crore hits another on the way with Dabangg 2, the stakes are high indeed for Kick.
“Sajid and Chetan understand that creatively, Kick has to be over and above what has been seen of Salman till date. The notes are being shared with him,” our source added. “Salman’s fans have huge expectations from the film and since many are expected to have watched the original, the remake has to be many notches higher.”
