Genelia chops off her locks for love

How far are you willing to go for love? Ask newly married Genelia Deshmukh, who chopped off her lovely longs locks at the behest of hubby Riteish.

The actress was craving for a new look but a closely cropped appearance was not exactly what she had in mind. Until her husband came up with the suggestion. “Honestly, I was a bit reluctant at first, but it was Riteish who encouraged me to go ahead with it,” she confesses. “I know that people have always associated me with long hair, but I wanted some change of appearance after marriage,” she adds. Genelia is no hurry to get back to business anytime soon. “I want to enjoy this time off to the maximum,” she says. As of now, the actress, who even made a public appearance with designer Neeta Lulla only two days ago, is enjoying all the positive feedback on her new look.
And she has only Riteish to thank for. After all, in a country where most men prefer their women with long tresses, he sure goes against the grain in encouraging his wife to keep it short.
