A generational battle between Farah-Tapsee

This weekend will introduce us to two leading ladies. And in what is supposed to be a first for Bollywood, there is a humongous 23-year gap between them. Farah Khan, the “heroine” in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, is going to be up against Tapsee Pannu, 24, who debuts in Chashme Baddoor.
“In any case, Farah is creating a record of sorts by becoming the ‘oldest newcomer’ to Bollywood. But to see her arrive on the same date as another girl who is seeing a quintessential heroine launch should be quite an event,” says an industry follower.
For now though, it’s Farah who has the early momentum with the first promo of her film going viral on the Internet, while Tapsee is still waiting to be unveiled. “Director David Dhawan has massive plans for Tapsee and she would be all over the place once her film’s theatrical promos are released,” another insider adds.
