Last heard, Deepika Padukone was tired of playing the plain Jane in films like Aarakshan, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se and Lafangey Parindey and wanted to get back to being “glamorous”, like the song by Fergie. So desperate was she to break away from this self-imposed mould that she sent out an SOS to her styling team, ensuring that when her next big release, Desi Boyz, hit the screen, the audience would see the glamorous beauty that Deepika really is.
Says a source close to the actress, “Dippy summoned her stylist, costume designer, make-up staff and hairdressers to give her an ultra glam look. She also hit the gym with a vengeance.”
While Dippy denies that she deliberately picked a glamorous role, she admits that she has had a makeover of sorts: “Desi Boyz requires me to look glamorous and I have done everything possible to ensure that I look my best.”
