Holiday time for Bollywood

Too much work and no fun seems to have stressed our Bollywood stars lately. Most of them are off to various exotic locations with their loves ones. They also seem to have planned their overseas shoots in and around this season, with majority happily partying abroad.
“There is no point being in Mumbai when you can’t shoot. Most of the filmmakers are wary of putting up any sets during this time of the year due to fear of damage from the rains. This results in a break for most stars,” says a veteran production controller. Most of the top actors who feature in Housefull 2, including Akshay Kumar, Asin, Riteish Deshmukh are currently combining business with pleasure in London.
Recently Deepika Padukone took a trip to Bali with her boyfriend Sidhartha Mallya for his sister’s wedding celebrations. Mahi Gill too has just left for abroad after wrapping up her Not A Love Story. Shirish Kunder, who wrapped up the shoot of Joker, has just returned from Los Angeles after a quick personal trip. A little birdie informed us that even Saif and Kareena aren’t far behind. Known to explore exotic locations, they are now planning a trip to Paris. This will also silence their critics, who suspected cracks in their relationship. “All is well, we would be taking a break from work very soon,” Saif says.
Meanwhile Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan are likely to step out of Mumbai soon once they are through with their current crop of films. As for the Bachchans, they are expected to plan a quiet outing, now that the stork is visiting them soon.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
