‘I am in my own league’
Deepika Padukone is very happy with the way 2013 is shaping up for her. The success of Race 2 has put her in the top bracket of heroines, but with that there is also the pressure and responsibility of living up to the mark.
The superstar, who has huge brand endorsements and big budget films under her belt, has a whopping `300 crore riding on her. However, Dippy isn’t perturbed. She says, “Yes, this year is crucial for me. With the success of Race 2, it has begun on a positive note. Hope I’m able to sustain it,” she says, keeping her fingers crossed.
Deepika doesn’t feel that her upcoming films Chennai Express, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Ram Leela will be a litmus test for her. “I think I’ve passed many tests and emerged a winner. Honestly, there is no fear or insecurity. I’m in my own league,” she smiles. She adds that she doesn’t feel threatened by other actresses of the `100 crore club such as Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra among others. Deepika says, “Firstly, I don’t belong to any camp or club. I’ve risen above competition,” she announces proudly. She continues, “I think there is enough work for everyone in this industry. I’m doing good work that has kept me going. I’m in a very secure zone.”
Well done!
