‘I’m quite ordinary’

Asin, who is eagerly awaiting the release of her upcoming film Ready doesn’t consider herself to be hot or beautiful. “I am quite ordinary that way. In fact, I would say I am still not aware of the male gaze. Even if someone were to look at me in a different light, I can’t figure it out. I am quite nutty in that sense. But I feel it’s good that I am ignorant about these matters. An actress is always in the public eye, and every move of hers is scrutinised. But I have never felt that guys have had a special interest in me,” she says.
She likes being in her own space and comfort zone, and doesn’t believe in dressing for anyone. “It doesn’t matter if somebody notices it or not. I like wearing casuals since I am comfortable in those. I’d love to look glamorous, but not in an indecent fashion. Films are a visual medium, so as an actress I would need to look stylish and beautiful,” she says.
