‘I’ve done my bit of formula films’

John Abraham has always been in the news, but not always for the right reasons. Failed relationships, link-ups and his fabulous body have all been favourite topics for the media to dig into. “It’s not very good for an actor to have his personal life under the scanner,” he admits with a shrug, adding in the same breath that he is not dating anybody. “I’m very much single; let me set the record straight. I’m not married to Genelia or anybody else.”
Instead, he prefers focussing on his next film, Force, where he’ll join Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn in essaying the role of a cop. “It’s not a trend, but the need of the subject. Salman and Ajay did a fantastic job in Dabangg and Singham, and I’m not competing with them,” he says.
After experimenting with his choice of films in No Smoking, Goal and Kabul Express, he now wants to play it safe. “I’ve done my bit of formula films. Now I want to concentrate on commercial cinema,” he says, adding that he also doesn’t want to play second fiddle to his contemporaries.
