Imran rues lack of Mamu’s advice
Having failed to recreate the magic of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na with the recently released I Hate Love Storys, Imran Khan is missing the absence of his uncle Aamir Khan’s advice on his career.
The actor rues that Aamir Mamu doesn’t have time for him. “He is busy with his own movies. He is so busy that he doesn’t have time to sit with me,” says Imran, adding that whenever they meet it’s just family time, and they don’t discuss their careers. “Our professional lives and personal lives are separate,” he says.
Imran further adds, “Aamir does not advise me on what films I have to do. In fact I had signed Kidnap and Luck before Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. So, no one advises me on my choice of films. Aamir tells me to learn the hard way. Even before I started doing films he advised me to do things my way. ‘When you make mistakes you will be better’ he would say,” says Imran.
Interestingly, both Kidnap and Luck failed at the box office, and I Hate Luv Storys is going down the same path. The actor is now looking forward to his next titled Break Ke Baad being directed by Danish Aslam.
And if that too fails, which we hope not, Imran might have Delhi Belly to his rescue, which is being produced by his Mamu Aamir. “Aamir does not make projects. He makes films he believes in and hence he has not offered me any film apart from this one,” he concludes.
