Imran’s Salman hero worship

The thawing of tensions between Aamir and Salman Khan since the last year or so has been among the top stories of Bollywood. In fact, things have become so rosy that nephew jaan Imran is indulging in full-fledged hero worship of the Dabangg Khan these days.
Imran is paying homage to Salman in quite a big way in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and those who’ve seen the promos feel it’s obvious that the mannerisms have been picked up from Salman. Interestingly enough, the film stars Katrina Kaif opposite Imran. “While there is the towel-under-the-legs dance step from Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, what takes the cake is the jiggy-your-belt-around-the-waist step from Dabangg,” says an observer, adding, “Even Katrina then joins Imran, and the two collectively get into the Salman mode. It seems she didn’t really mind doing it; in a way, acknowledging Salman’s star-power.”
It’s not just the dance steps, but also the dialogues that are a reference to Salman. “Imran, when challenged by Katrina on his dum, mouths Salman’s famous Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di line,” the source adds.
While some feel it’s YRF’s way of keeping Salman happy ahead of his first ever venture with the banner in Ek Tha Tiger, there are also those who feel it’s like any other Bollywood film that pays a tribute to another superstar. In fact, nobody would even notice, except that it’s Katrina here and the only star involved is Salman.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
