Imran turns Haryanvi
Chocolate boy Imran Khan is finally ready to shed his soft image. The light-eyed actor will be seen donning a rustic look as a Haryanvi Jat in his upcoming film, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and is leaving no stone unturned to get his act right.
Imran had happily agreed to do the role until he realised that the role would entail speaking in the local Haryanvi language. “I honestly thought that I had made a huge mistake by taking up the role when I uttered the first few lines in Haryanvi. It was not very easy and I almost felt like backing out initially. I didn’t have faith in myself to pull off such a role,” says Imran. It was only when things got very difficult that he decided to share his predicament with director and producer Vishal Bhardwaj.
“Luckily for me, Vishalji agreed to help out as long as I promised to work hard on it. I promised him that I would and took a few workshops too. And today, here we are with the film,” he smiles.
