An inspired tale of three cities?
With less than a week to go before London Paris New York releases in theatres, its promotional activities have begun in full swing. With the result that many fans are noticing a marked similarity with the Anne Hathaway starrer One Day. “One Day was about a woman who meets her friend for one day every year and they fall in love. LPNY also has the girl and the boy seeing each other in three cities every year for one day,” a movie buff notes.
The only difference, it seems, is that the Aditi Rao Hyadari-Ali Zafar starrer is set over three years, while One Day dragged on for 20. However, Ali defends his film. “I haven’t seen One Day, but trust me, LPNY has its own way and direction,” he says. “There were also those who said it’s similar to Before Sunrise… and Hum Tum. But it turned out they were also baseless.”
