Irrfan’s not a real gangster

With Irrfan Khan being roped in for the sequel to Sahib, Biwi Aur Gangster, our sources tell us that Irrfan will be playing a blue-blooded character intent on revenge. “The part calls for a layered characterisation and no one but Irrfan could have got it right,” says a source. “That’s why even though Neil Nitin Mukesh was approached for the role, director Tigmanshu Dhulia ultimately opted for Irrfan.” Our source adds that all the characters from the previous film will be seen in the sequel as well.
“Yes, all three (from the original cast) will remain while Irrfan plays a guy who’s out to take revenge,” admitted Tigmanshu. “He’s only metaphorically a gangster.”
