It’s a race to the finish for Zarine

Changing her mind is a woman’s prerogative of course, but for the makers of Race 2, this has spelt nothing but trouble. Actresses seem to be walking in an out of the project, and producer Ramesh Taurani is bearing the brunt.
First it was Deepika Padukone who opted out due to date issues, leading the Tauranis to consider casting Priyanka Chopra. In the meantime, Sonakshi Sinha was finalised for the part of the second female lead. But Dippy was still very much on the producers’ minds, and they completely rearranged the schedule according to Dippy’s calendar. An overwhelmed Deepika again became a part of the project.
One would think all was now hunky dory — but there was just one hitch: The new dates didn’t suit Sonakshi, who had allotted the same dates for Dabangg 2.
Enter Zarine Khan. The Character Dheela girl has been on the lookout for the right project, and has evinced interest in Race 2. “Zarine has been approached for Race 2,” her spokesperson confirmed for us. “She has shown that she has the oomph to take on a project like Race 2.” So can the Tauranis now breathe easy?
